Stephen E. Gebhardt and Robert Fries were filming interviews with creators of American film avant-garde in the beginning of the seventies. In front of their object lens once appeared also Stan Brakhage who used this opportunity to create an improvised reflection of his situation: to show how it feels to sit in front of the camera and monologue. Stan Brakhage (1933–2003) was one of the most significant artists of American experimental film.
